Wanted

Volunteers for Charity Organization and/or Liaison personnel for Overseas Community working on the behalf of terminally ill Children with Incurable Diseases
Our NPO maintains a ‘Hospitality Guest House’ in Tokyo to enable terminally ill children with incurable diseases and their families to have memorable experiences. Four of our directors are currently or formerly employed doctors at The National Center for Child Medical Health and Development, Japan’s only national hospital for children with incurable diseases.
We give Japanese and other Asian families a week stay in Tokyo where plenty of enjoyable amenities such as Tokyo Disney Land are accessible. We take care of all expenses including travel to/from Tokyo, room & board, fees for attractions, transportation, and arrangements for a special wish for the children. We want to provide an enjoyable week in Tokyo for our guest children while giving family members opportunities to show their love to their children through Tokyo’s attractions.
Our NPO registered with the Japanese Government on September 13th, 2007. We are planning to invite the first child with an incurable disease and his/her family member in October 2007.
In order to serve more children and family members, we are recruiting volunteers for charity fund raising and liaison personnel for overseas communities.

Why We are Looking for Foreign Supports

We are asking for donations from Japanese individuals and establishments as well. However, we realize that we need to rely heavily on support from foreign communities for the start-up stage.
  1. Individual contributions are usually a small amount as traditionally in Japanese culture people consider such individual donations as ‘collecting change’. Since we are not operating on a mass scale to collect change, we cannot consider individual donations as our main source of income to meet with our monetary budget goal.
  2. Japanese corporations and organizations such as The Federation of Economic Organizations are big contributors but
    • They tend to choose a small number of selected (and often the same) NPOs. They choose NPOs with visible achievements.
    • They request 1-2 years of traceable achievements.
Major corporations set a prerequisite that an NPO must have a referenc from the federation of economic organizations.
    • The Federation of Economic Organizations and its ‘1% Club’ (liaison for NPO donations) requires two year achievements with impressible records.

How would we qualify for the two year achievements with impressible record requirements set by the federation of economic organizations?

During the two year qualifying period, we need to raise our funds by relying on Japanese individuals, foreign individuals, foreign-owned corporations and aid organizations in USA. We ask for understanding from the overseas community in raising funds both from Japanese business society and foreign country investments in this worthy cause.

We have been launching 4 fund raising campaigns under the circumstances.
  1. Donations from Mainly Young Japanese Individuals
Approached through our web site, ‘Hospitality Guest House Supporters Club’ and SNS (Social Networking Service) for terminally ill Children with incurable diseases
  2. Donations from Foreign Individuals and Foreign-owned Corporations in Japan
Approached through the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and through volunteer fund-raisers and international liaisons (now recruiting)
  3. Grants from aid organizations in USA
Approached through international liaisons (now recruiting)
  4. Donations from Japanese big businesses
Approached through our directors (currently limited by 2-years achievement requirements)
Fundraising difficulties prevent us from inviting more children with incurable diseases. The need to build impressive achievements to qualify us for applying to become a Japanese big business charitable organization requires that we recruit volunteers who organize charity fundraising and who can be liaisons with foreigners and the foreign business community in Japan.

We are look forward to hearing from many applicants who support our cause.
